Severe Weather at Mayfaire or Outdoor Events

IN CASE IN INCLEMENT WEATHER

1.   Gregory, Alex, Pal & the Mayfairies will make the decision to close the festival.

2.   Gregory will make an announcement on each radio channel to turn to CHANNEL 1 (emergency channel). He will then give further instruction from channel 1. Stay off the radio unless you have critical information. 

3.   We are responsible for the safety of our guests which includes visitors and artists, but do not put yourself in harm’s way. Use common sense!

MUSEUM STAFF DUTIES

1.   A Museum staff member (Pal or Torri if one of them is there) will make an announcement from Stage that we are closing the show due to weather and everyone should leave in an orderly fashion.

2.   Megaphones will be pre-staged with the guards at each end of the show. Staff closest to the end of the exhibit shall walk using those megaphones and make announcements that we are closing the show. They should then start walking toward the stage on the Library lawn continuously making the announcement. The announcement should say the following: “May I have your attention, please. Due to (an approaching storm) (a security incident), we are closing Mayfaire at this time. Please evacuate the area immediately in an orderly fashion.

3.   The remainder of the staff will individually tell people in their vicinity to please evacuate using the above wording.

4. MayFerry drivers (passenger golf carts) shall tell visitors that we are closing the show as they make their final few rounds

STAFF

1.   After all artists have been notified and the streets are cleared of visitors, Museum Staff shall secure Museum property but stay safe!

2.   If time permits, staff may assist artists with securing any artwork

ARTISTS

1.           Artists are responsible for their own property and shall secure their tent as much as possible.

2.           After the weather has passed, artists will be notified through an email or mass text.
